In continuation to Tradeindia's participation in various global trade fairs, the company will now be participating in the China Import and Export Fair (CANTON FAIR) to be held from October 15 to 19 at Guangzhou, China. The Canton fair is the world's second largest fair.

Tradeindia, India's B2B marketplace, is among the 110-member delegation of Indian businessmen from 50 companies led by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO).

Meanwhile, a release issued by FIEO said that A Sakthivel, President, FIEO has been invited as a  speaker at a Symposium organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Consulate General of India where he will be projecting India as an ideal destination for imports as well as investment.

His presentation is aimed to increase imports from India so as to address the issue of adverse trade balance. The bilateral trade during 2007-08 was to the tune of US $ 37.9 billion with exports of US $ 10 billion and imports of US$ 27.9 billion from China.

Participation in Canton fair would give Indian businessmen an opportunity to forge hitherto unexplored business linkages in various sectors. Now that the focus is shifting to India, it is an opportune time for Indian exporters to make their presence felt at this important global platforms for targeting China as well as other parts of the world, the FIEO release said.

India will showcase its strength in a wide range of products like machinery & equipment, vehicle & spare parts electronic, IT products, household electrical appliances, lamps & light fixtures, hardware & tools, building materials, raw materials, textile materials, consumer goods, decorations items, jewelery items, furniture, toys, clocks, watches, sports goods, office supplies, horticulture products, household items, cases & bags, crafts items, festival & party decorations, foods and agriculture products, etc.

The delegation will be joined by Madhav Lal, Additional Secy & DC (MSME), G P Upadhayaya, Secretary General, FIEO and Binod Kispotta, Jute Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles besides other senior government officials.

The delegation includes participation from the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the Jute Manufactures Development Council (JMDC), Rubber Board, Coir Board besides companies like tradeindia.com, TTK Prestige Ltd, Black Jack India Ltd, Unison Lawn Equipments, Jhalani Impex, William Goodacre and Sons, Ganges Jute, Symphony Comfort Systems Ltd, Luminous Power Technologies Pvt Ltd, Hi-Tech Writing Instruments, Deejay Distilleries, etc.

FIEO's participation on a massive scale will strengthen the economic ties between two emerging nations and facilitate trade and investment on bilateral basis, the press release added.
