The EFY Group, Indiaâs leading tech-media group and the organiser of Open Source India 2017 event, today announced that the 14th edition of the event, which happened on 13th & 14th of October 2017 at NIMHANS Convention Center, Bengaluru, was the most successful one in the history of the event. Graced by a total unique footfall of 2,367 visitors over the two days, the event boasted of 70+ industry and community experts coming together to speak in the 9 conference tracks and 14 hands-on workshops.
The star-studded speakers list included international speakers like Tony Wasserman (Professor of Software Management Practice at Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley), Joerg Simon (ISECOM & Fedora Project), and Soh Hiong, Senior Consultant, NetApp, while there was also active participation from the Government of India with Debabrata Nayak (Project Director, NeGD (MeitY)) and K Rajasekhar (Dy Director General, NIC, MeitY, Govt of India) delivering speeches at the event. Industry experts like Andrew Aitken (GM & Global Open Source Practice Leader, (Wipro Technologies), Sandeep Alur (Director, Technical Engagements (Partners, Microsoft Corporation India), Sanjay Manwani (MySQL India Director, Oracle), Rajdeep Dua (Director, Developer Relations at Salesforce), Gagan Mehra (Director, Information Strategy, MongoDB), Rajesh Jeyapaul (Architect, Mentor and Advocate, IBM), Valluri Kumar (Chief Architect, Huawei India), and Ramakrishna Rama (Director - Software, Dell India R&D) were amongst the 70+ experts who spoke at the event.
There were many intriguing topics, which compelled the visitors to stay glued at the venue till, late in the evening. We have already announced the dates for the next edition. Itâs going to happen right here, at the same venue, on 11th, 12th& 13th of October, 2018.â
