NEW DELHI: We all talk about women empowerment every now and then but no one ever speaks about how to achieve this. ATS Infrastructure Ltd. has taken a small step towards empowering our women by contributing to the cause of women literacy. On 12th September, 2015 ATS Infrastructure Ltd. sponsored an event marking the opening ceremony of Women Literacy Centers in Haridwar, an initiative by Virmani Education Trust. These literacy centers will facilitate women with knowledge of functional Hindi, arithmetic and vocation.
"We hope that our small action will translate into big change for the disadvantaged," said Mr. Getamber Anand, CMD, ATS Infrastructure Ltd.
The Virmani Education Trust has been involved in transforming the lives of under privileged children, women and people since 1932. Today, the Trust runs 361 centers in and around Delhi. So far, over 30,000 women have studied at these centers. Currently 11,000 women are attending classes at these centers.
ATS is a socially responsible organization and realizes the importance of corporate contribution towards society. Our other initiatives include facilitating education of children of our labour by offering free education through on-site classes. Apart from this, we run a campaign called 'Fight against Diabetes' wherein we approach various schools in the national capital region to educate students about diabetes and ways to control it.
