MUMBAI: With immediate effect, Bhaskar Patel is appointed as Managing Director, Technip India Ltd. He takes over from Samik Mukherjee, who recently moved to Technip Corporate Services in Paris, France, as Group Senior Vice President Strategy & Business Development, Subsea.

Bhaskar has 30-years of experience with major EPC companies in the hydrocarbons contracting industry. He started his career with Worley Engineering and then moved to KTI BV (now Technip) in The Netherlands in 1986, where he worked within the ethylene product line. After a short period with Essar in Dubai, UAE, he joined Shaw E&C in 2008 where he was responsible for leading global business development, proposals and company strategy.

Bhaskar joined Technip in 2012 after the Group's acquisition of Stone & Webster Process Technologies and associated oil and gas engineering capabilities from the Shaw Group. Based in Paris, he has been responsible for Group's Key Accounts, Tendering and Proposals for the past 3 years. With his new assignment as Managing Director in India, Bhaskar will keep responsibility as Group SVP, Key Account Management.

Bhaskar was born in Tanzania, East Africa and grew up in England. He is Chemical Engineer, graduated from London.

Commenting on his appointment, Bhaskar Patel, Managing Director, Technip India, said: "Although I have visited India many times on business and pleasure, this is my first time living in India and I feel very privileged and honored to have the opportunity to lead such a diverse, talented and enthusiastic group of people in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
