Crowdfunding to Aid 'Back-to-School' Campaign by Cashkaro

NEW DELHI: Cashkaro.com, the largest cashback and coupons site in India, announced the launch of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign 'Back to School' in collaboration with crowdfunding platform Milaap.org. This initiative will help school kids in rural India head back to school and continue their education. The campaign invites small loans to help educate kids in Odisha and will have each contribution matched, rupee for rupee, by Cashkaro.com.

This is the first of many such initiatives that www.Cashkaro.com aims to launch. The children benefiting from this belong to impoverished families in Odisha who cannot afford school fees. Faced with the risk of pulling their children out of school due to lack of funds, the families seek small loans to pay the fees. Milaap has partnered with the Mahashakti Foundation in Odisha to provide these children (as young as 6 years) affordable education loans to continue their studies. The loans help their parents pay the children's school fees, purchase textbooks and shoes and the parents repay the loan in monthly instalments.
