The IPR Exchange - An Indo US IPR Summit

PR Newswire | 21 Oct, 2013
NEW DELHI: Singh & Associates Advocates and Solicitors, a full service international law firm, along with its intellectual property law US-based partner Sughrue Mion PLLC, is set to present The IPR Exchange – An Indo US IPR Summit. The IPR Exchange is slated to be held later this year in Mumbai. The duo has entrusted Lex WITNESS, India's first magazine on legal and corporate affairs, for summit conceptualization and immaculate execution through its recently launched business wing The Summit Secretariat Services.

The IPR Exchange will target the IPR issues on three major sectors: media and entertainment, IT and telecom, and medical devices. The business environment in all these three sectors is often impacted owing to new regulations and IPR-related conflicts, especially cross-border that come to light every now and then. Hence, the content of this summit is being meticulously drafted so as to bring in new insights into intellectual property rights and offer an opportunity for the global experts to come together and opine. It would revolve around the strategic aspects of patents, trademarks copyrights, and designs.

While talking about the summit, Manoj K Singh, Founding Partner of Singh & Associates Advocates and Solicitors said, "IPR is an asset to every business, and protecting one's IPR is of critical importance. The IPR Exchange is one of the many ways we are trying to inform our Indian corporates of the relevant information they need to know and the services which are available to help them protect their IPR worldwide."

Since its inception in 2009 as a monthly magazine, Lex WITNESS has been a credible platform for knowledge sharing and thought leadership on many complex legal and corporate issues. Marking this foray of end-to-end Summit Secretariat Services as an extension of their offerings, Lex WITNESS aims to bring truly global knowledge events to Indian audiences. The relationship built with senior industry professionals over the years and painstaking in-depth research with each one of them, helps build up a discussion agenda most relevant to participants. This is the key reason of high regard for business meets organized by Lex WITNESS events – attracting a wide range of industry peers, from in-house counsels as well as law firms, where they find an ideal platform to discuss solutions to their challenges and issues.

Amongst many key strategic initiatives, the Summit Secretariat draws tremendous strength from an ocean of knowledge that Lex WITNESS possesses and the ecosystem that exists around it.

On the occasion, Abidali Dossa, Summit Architect of Lex WITNESS said, "The IPR Exchange is being considered as an unparalleled platform for the legal luminaries in the area of IPR to come together to ideate, debate and offer new perspectives, especially from a global standpoint. Many veterans and industry experts are coming forward to extend their support and participation, much in advance."
