GJIIE 2013 Day 2 Receives Astounding Response

PR Newswire | 18 Mar, 2013
CHENNAI: 16th & 17th March 2013 Saw a Record Turnout at the Chennai Trade Centre of More Than 8000 People Visiting the GJIIE 201

Day one and day two of the Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE) saw a record of more than 8000 people attending the country's most comprehensive B2B fair. The exhibition brought together manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers under one roof and is the perfect venue of glitterati jewellery and loose stones.
Three interesting seminars were also held on day two of the show that educated the audience on various aspects of the jewellery industry. The workshop on 'Small Scale Entrepreneurship in the Jewellery Industry' by Mr. Thirupathi Rajan, Mr. Sivalingam and Mr. H. Sundaresan of the MSME Development Institute enlightened the audience on how a small scale jeweller can reap great benefits from organization and structure, therefore becoming the "Future Bullions" of the country.

The GIA seminar on 'The Different types of Gemstone Treatment' not only addressed the audience on the various technical aspects of gemstone treatment but also raised awareness for the need to maintain full disclosure while selling jewellery.

The dais was then taken over by a panel of experts, comprising Emmanuel Babu of Original Kerala Jewellers, Mohamed Yasir Sultan of Sultan Group, Suraj Shantakumar of Kirtilals and Sanjay Banerjee of Nizam Jewellers, engaging in a discussion on 'Independent Retailing vs. Chain store Retailing'. This discussion was an eye-opener where the audience was brought to understand the importance of brand identity in the market, which is essential for small-scale jewellers as well as large-scale jewellers.

After day 1, the gold walk featuring models displayed signature pieces from participating jewellers. There was an overwhelming response from the exhibitors to be part of this gold walk as it created a lot of excitement among the visitors. As the glamorous models displayed exclusive jewellery from Fusion Jewellery - Bangalore who are specialized in Kundhan, Gokak, Nakhas stones.

This three-day event from 16-18 March 2013 at Chennai Trade Centre, the ninth edition of GJIIE, is set to raise the benchmark and increase business opportunities for the jewellery industry, with a participation of 250+ exhibitors.
