LearningMate Announces Expansion With New Office in Rajarhat

PR Newswire | 01 Oct, 2012
MUMBAI: LearningMate, the leading provider of online learning solutions to the education sector, on its ninth anniversary announced the opening of its Kolkata office at Ecospace, Rajarhat. With this expansion, LearningMate adds to its development centers based in Mumbai.

LearningMate recently won the Red Herring's Top 100 Asia at Hong Kong, which is the list that has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs across Asia. In May, this year LearningMate was also awarded the Platinum Award at the Global IMS Conference in Toronto, for the most innovative learning product for GoClass, its cloud hosted mobile learning platform.

Commenting on the expansion, LearningMate's CEO, Samudra Sen said, "We are seeing some tremendous growth and the awards we have won this year are a recognition of this. Our Kolkata center at Rajarhat will allow us to add more scale to our operations as Kolkata has a very qualified talent base and has considerable economic advantage compared to other towns we evaluated for our business. Once, the Kolkata center works to full capacity it will take our overall strength to over 600 people across the globe. This will make us one of the largest teams supporting global clients in the education vertical as of today."

LearningMate has already begun operations with a team of 40 people in the technology practice area and will now expand to establish its content practice as well in Kolkata. This is the second development center being commissioned within a year due to the rapid expansion at LearningMate. LearningMate has a total of four development centers, with three in Mumbai and now one in Kolkata.
