LONDON: GoldenSource Corporation, a leading provider of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solutions, will participate in a panel discussion and exhibit at the Paris Financial Information Summit 2010 on the 10th June. The panel, part of a wider discussion at the event around the role of data in forthcoming regulatory changes, will focus on managing the data lifecycle through integrated data management.

One of the key ideas under discussion is pending legislation around 'living wills'. This concept, which has major data management implications, requires banks to detail resolution and recovery plans to ensure financial continuity. It will protect investors and mitigate systemic risk by ensuring banks can produce all of the product, customer and counterparty data which is relevant for measuring and managing the impact of a potential bank failure. Key to this is data standardisation and data integration, enabling all counterparties and related transactions to be identified under enterprise data management (EDM) platforms.

Gert Raeves, SVP of strategic business development at GoldenSource, will be addressing the challenges these developments throw up alongside key industry players such as Barclays Capital, BNP Paribas, and Société Générale Securities Services. By looking at specific cases across the data lifecycle, the panel will consider:

    - Integrated data management as a tool for systemic risk mitigation;

    - Best practice for data integration;

    - If living wills will do what they set out to do;

    - How to address the challenge of cost on a tight budget; and

    - How to measure the performance of initiatives.

Gert will be speaking at 11.10am in the 'Integrated Data Management for managing the data lifecycle' panel, and will be available prior to and after it for interviews.

Press note: Gert Raeves is available for press interviews and briefings while onsite at the Paris Financial Information Summit. Please contact Nicola Garvin at the information below to coordinate an interview:
