Much has been talked about India's mobile phone and Internet revolutions. Today, we have more than 900 million mobile phone subscribers for our 1.22 billion people. A similar, though less stunning, trend is evident when it comes to the Internet, with around 137 million Indians currently using the World Wide Web. However, compared to this, mobile Internet has not been that spectacular. But that is until now. The mobile Internet revolution has begun in the country, and we are proud to be a part of this.

Look at this statistics of a recent study: India is expected to have close to 165 million mobile Internet users by March 2014, up from 87.1 million in December 2012; 94% of Indian smart-phone users have used their smart device to access Internet from their phone; India has emerged as the second largest base of mobile only Internet generation after South Africa; 40-50% of Indian Internet users are expected to access the web only on mobile phones by 2015.

The figures above clearly signal to the fact that the coming years will be big for mobile Internet marketing.

Keeping this is mind, we have now come forward with a new feature of mobile-ready catalogs and websites for our users. With this, you will now be able to access suppliers' online catalogs and websites on Tradeindia.com from your smart phone with utmost ease.

I think this a small but significant step that will help us take our users a step forward in the mobile Internet revolution. A while back, we introduced a mobile-friendly version of Tradeindia.com and now introduction of the new feature adds more user-friendliness to the platform. Information about each and every supplier, their contact information and their product gallery are now accessible from your mobile phone, and you can even send trade inquiries just by typing on your mobile's keypad or touchscreen.

In today's world of trade where technological advances play a crucial role, I think it is important to provide both buyers and sellers every possible touch-point that will help them extend their reach, and considering this I hope Tradeindia's new mobile-ready feature is a forward thinking attempt in this direction. In addition, as I have mentioned above, mobile Internet is likely to be the next big thing in the coming days and our new launch is an honest attempt to keep our users stay abreast of this new trend.

I invite you all to try this new feature. Your valuable feedback will help us make Tradeindia's mobile platform more effective, and its features more user-friendly.

Delayed Payment by PSUs to SMEs
Aloysius D'Souza, Dil Udyog Electronics Pvt Ltd | Thu May 2 04:14:29 2013
Our major problem is getting paid as per the terms of payment specified in Tenders and Purchase Orders -- their procedures are so long that we never receive payment within the one month specified in most orders. In what way can SME Ministry help?

samju | Wed May 1 19:48:45 2013
How we can get the things that we can distribute.

Banks, SIDBI security centric
JitendrabTah | Wed May 1 15:40:21 2013
I do agree that. There are many schemes around to help MSMEs but all financial institutions including SIDBI are Security Centric. It is extremely difficult almost impossible to get finance for a start up . Today MSMEs are facing Security as well as Corruption. Number of educated people willing to set up New Units is high but credit due to being Security Centric banks is difficult to get . Hence they shy away.

Vinod Manikkath | Wed May 1 05:46:53 2013
The govt announces schemes for SMEs and advertises it. But none of our banks honour it. So why are we talking of schemes which our banks show no respect for. I run two businesses both of which are SME registered. I approached SBI and OBC. Both refused to consider us under the SME schemes and wanted collateral. How does not take some defaulting banks to task.

  Re:
jai narayan rai | Thu May 2 05:16:38 2013
Same happen to me. In India, its better to go at your own else government circulate only schemes and no banks even have idea or knowledge about these schemes. I am surprised when Bank managers from big banks even deny about these schemes.

  Re:
Ramesh Patel | Thu May 2 11:17:09 2013
Pls let me know this scheme covers service industries.

  Re:
Pavaankumar Agarwal | Thu May 2 11:31:46 2013
Very true the situation is more than worst pan India, SME and MSME are left off until we arrange for 100% marketable Urban collateral.

  Re:
babu | Thu May 2 18:08:00 2013
Hi Mr Vinod, I partially agreeing your complaint, but there is a solution for that, whenever any seminar or meeting is there please attend and raise issues about the bank support, then to save their face they will help us, i got help like that.

Govt schemes - are they reaching SMEs
Sudhir Gandotra @ OpenLX.com | Tue Apr 30 18:18:22 2013
Please tell me of one Bank Manager in Delhi who will look at my project on merit basis for a loan under CGTSI scheme and I will be greatful. It is unfortunate that I have, so far, not been able reach one who will want to talk of this scheme and see things on pure merit and encourage growth of industry.
