Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that the government was sticking to an estimated 7.2 percent growth rate for this fiscal (2009-10) and 8.5 percent for 2010-11.

"I have given some indication in the budget speech and the economic survey. So far as this year is concerned, we are sticking to 7.2 percent GDP (Gross Domestic Product)growth and 8.5 percent for 2010-11," Mukherjee said.

The finance minister was talking to reporters on the margins of a workshop on financial

literacy, organised by the Reserve Bank of India and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, an international body.
