Hyundai Motor India Ltd Tuesday launched its much-awaited compact SUV Creta with best in class warranty - three years unlimited kilometres.

"We are delighted to launch the perfectly engineered and powerful SUV for the new generation customers. Creta is a revolutionary product, a true expression of the 'New Age Hyundai'. We are confident Creta will strengthen Hyundai's position in India and will lead a new trend in the SUV segment," Managing Director and CEO, HMIL, BS Seo told media at the launch in New Delhi on Tuesday.

He said, "Hyundai vision is to be the life partner of its customers. We are always around and near to our customers. Hyundai offers Best-in-class warranty with 3 years unlimited Kilometres to all CRETA customers. Hyundai is the first automobile manufacturer to offer this customer delight initiative in the segment."

According to the company, the "Hyundai Creta" is an influential global model for the company in one of the fastest-growing vehicle segments, helping it to reach out to many more consumers in new and established international markets.

Hyundai is looking to score big with the Creta considering that it has already received more than 15,000 prebookings for the Creta, which it hopes will take on the Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.

The Creta will be available in three engine options - a 1.6-litre dual VTVT petrol, a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel.

Hyundai is pricing the Creta in the price band of Rs 8.6 lakh to Rs 11.3 lakh (for the petrol variants). In the diesel engines, the Creta is to be priced Rs 9.5 lakh for the base 1.4litre variant, while the 1.6 litre variant is likely to be priced between Rs 11.9 lakh and Rs 14.1 lakh.
