The Indian small and medium business sector has set a good example for rest of the developing countries, said National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) CMD HP Kumar on Friday.
While addressing a the seminar on "NSIC Initiatives for MSMEs" organised jointly by PHD Chamber and NSIC at PHD House, in Chandigarh on Friday, the NSIC chief said that the country's SME sector is a role model for the developing countries.
Foreign business delegations show keen interest in Training-cum-Incubation centre (NSIC-TIC) for small enterprise establishment, he added.
NSIC incubation centers help in creating self-employment opportunities by imparting training in entrepreneurship building to the unemployed people who want to set up small business enterprises in any of the manufacturing or services sectors or seek employment opportunities.
There are 48 incubation centres all over India which NSIC-TIC plans increase to 200 by the end of this year.
Kumar added NSIC has been given responsibility for raw material distribution under its Raw Material Assistance Scheme, which is expected to give an opportunity to SSI to focus better on manufacturing quality products.
He added that single point this registration with NSIC, which has been only an administrative arrangement by the centre, will become a law in another three to six months.
