Bokaro Steel Plant (BSP) Monday announced posting profit of Rs.2,085 crore in the 2009-2010 financial year.

"The last financial year profit is much higher than 2008-2009 which was Rs.1,293 crore. For the quarter ended March 2010, the revenue increased 13 percent to Rs.3,239.83 crore," Managing Director V.K Srivastav told reporters.

He said the import of coal from foreign countries impacted the profit of the company.

He also said interrupted power supply caused production losses. The company suffered a loss of Rs.29 crore in May this year due to irregular power supply.
