As many as 467,600 defaulting consumers will lose their power connections temporarily or permanently during the current fiscal, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) said Wednesday.

A UHBVN spokesman said in Chandigarh that the company has fixed a target of disconnection of 72,500 defaulting consumers in operation circle Yamuna Nagar, 69,500 in Ambala (comprising district Ambala and Panchkula), 56,700 each in Karnal and Sonepat, 42,000 in Jind, 35,700 each in Rohtak and Jhajjar, 34,700 each in Kurukshetra and Kaithal, and 29,400 in Panipat.

He added that the power company temporarily or permanently snapped electricity supply of 9,858 defaulting consumers during the first fortnight of the current financial year.

The company had pending power bills amounting to Rs.8.39 crore of which it realised Rs.4.30 crore, the spokesman added.
