The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Global Civil Aviation Search and Rescue Forum here June 21-22.

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) will host the forum in cooperation with the ICAO.

"The outcomes of this international civil aviation search and rescue forum will have far reaching effects around the world and will be of value to the UAE as it seeks to lead the region in this vital safety service," said Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, director general, GCAA.

"The forum was conceived jointly by ICAO and the UAE GCAA as civil aviation search and rescue requires the close cooperation of many participating entities in determining policy, establishing procedures and implementing operations," he added.
