The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved an increase in the fair and remunerative price (FRP) of sugarcane to Rs 355 per quintal for a basic recovery rate of 10.25 per cent for the 2025-26 sugar season (October-September) keeping the interest of farmers in mind, according to a cabinet communique.
