Exports from India to 27-member European Union have increased to 18.8 billion euro until July this year, up 25 percent from 15.1 billion euro during the first seven month of 2009.

For the same period, exports from the EU to India have increased to 19.4 billion euro, up 26 percent from 15.4 billion euro, according to figures released by Eurostat, the EU statistics office.

European Union's trade with all its major partners grew between January and July 2010 compared with the same period of 2009, according to EuAsiaNews.

The most notable increases were recorded for exports to Brazil (57 percent), China (41 percent) and Turkey (38 percent), and for imports from Russia (43 percent), China and India (both 25 percent).

The EU trade surplus increased with the US (39.2 billion euro in January-July, 2010 compared with 22.7 billion in January-July, 2009), Switzerland (9.7 billion from 7.3 billion) and Turkey (9.4 billion from 3.5 billion).

While the trade deficit increased with China, Russia and Norway, it remained nearly stable with Japan and South Korea.
