National buyer-seller meet in Ludhiana from June 21

Promoted and supported by Knitwear Club, Ludhiana, Knitwear and Apparel Manufacturers Association of Ludhiana (KAMAL), is organizing 'Knits and Wears 2008' from June 21 to 25.

This all-India buyer-seller meet is being organised for the first time in Ludhiana to book winter orders in an organised way. The organisers say that earlier, the industrialists used to make their individual efforts for meeting buyers at various places in the country.

Nearly 200 participants from Ludhiana will participate in this meet. Nearly 1,500 dealers from all over the country are expected to attend this meet, said Sudarshan Jain, co-ordinator of KAMAL.

S.S Channi, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, will inaugurate the event. The participants are expecting business transaction of Rs 500 crore.

If the response is good, the meet can be extended next year, followed by a fashion week, added Vinod Thaper, President of knitwear club.
