Ford India set up its first independent technical training facility for
the north region here on Tuesday to create a pool of trained and
talented technicians.
Established in partnership with Technical
Training Inc. (TTI), the state-of-the-art technical training centre is
spread over 18,000 sq ft. in the industrial town of Manesar.
As
part of the training programme, trainees will be inducted on Ford's
current and forthcoming product portfolio to serve customer
requirements.
The learning programmes and techniques will be conducted in digitally computerised classrooms.
Speaking
on the occasion, Anurag Mehrotra, Ford India's executive director,
marketing, sales and service, said: "This new state-of-the-art facility
is a testimony to our commitment towards ensuring a skilled work force,
qualified with the right certifications to deal with Ford products and
more."
"Our vision is to establish independent technical centres
with ultra-modern facilities, including body shop training, in all four
regions and this centre is our first step towards it," he said.
Ford India already has six training centres in India, one each in Chennai, Cochin, Kolhapur, Ahmedabad, Mohali and Kolkata.
