Automobile major Tata Motors Thursday launched its sports hatchback Bolt priced between Rs.4.65 lakh and Rs.5.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

According to the automobile major, the new passenger vehicle comes in two fuel variants of petrol and diesel and is manufactured at the company's Pimpri plant in Pune.

“We expect Bolt to strengthen our presence in the hatchback market, one of the most popular segments for the Indian customers," said Mayank Pareek, president passenger vehicles business unit, Tata Motors.

"A stylish car with many segment first features, the Bolt offers global design and standards that will equally bring in new first time buyers as well as appeal to existing auto users looking for a new and exciting product in this segment."

The company said that the new vehicle is designed and engineered by its teams across India, UK and Italy.

The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2L turbocharged multi-point fuel injection (MPFi) petrol engine.

The diesel variant comes with a quadrajet 1.3L engine, delivering power of 75PS at the rate of 4,000 RPM. Both petrol and diesel powertrains are BS-IV compliant.
