DPA | 14 Jul, 2008
The price for crude oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) jumped more than $6 Friday to $139.85, OPEC said in a statement Monday.

One barrel (159 litres) of OPEC-produced crude stood at $139.85 Friday, up $6.17 from 133.68 dollars on the previous day.

On Friday, the OPEC oil price regained much of the value lost since the July 3 record of 4140.73 per barrel.

OPEC calculates an average basket price based on 13 important brands produced by cartel members.
